Miguel is the Managing Director and Founder of Space Strategies, a US based consulting firm with over 35 years of experience focused on the business of space, spanning satellite communications, earth observation, ground infrastructure, space infrastructure, and emerging commercial space markets. He advises on market entry, business models, partnerships, and long term strategic positioning across both established and next generation space markets, including the growing in-space economy and Commercial LEO Destinations.

His path to founding Space Strategies ran through the industry itself, not around it:

• Started at a small satellite equipment manufacturer, developing early business development skills before becoming Director of Sales for Latin America and other international markets
• Moved into compressed video technology that became DIRECTV, leading business development for Europe and Latin America
• Served as Director of Business Development, International, for Hughes' Spaceway project, one of the earliest efforts to deliver internet via satellite
• Held executive positions at Boeing Communications Inc and Motorola- General Instruments.
• Supported Lockheed Martin's international telecom business and offset credit programs
• Founded Space Strategies in 2001

Since then, Miguel has advised a broad portfolio of organizations, from early stage ventures to established industry players, across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. He has served as a board member for publicly traded space companies and continues to mentor executives and graduate students through university programs, supporting the next generation entering the industry.

Miguel holds a BSEE with a focus in telecommunications and electronics. Outside the office, he is an avid endurance ultrarunner and coaches colleagues training for marathons and ultramarathons, bringing the same discipline and long term mindset to his professional work.
